Parks Road, Oxford
Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 p.a.
We are seeking two full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistants to join Professor Kim’s research group at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford. The posts are funded by an FP7 Grant and are available for two years.

The project aims to develop a comprehensive and fundamental understanding of underlying physics accounting for carrier dynamics, charge transport, and light-matter interaction in various QD systems and for the creation of any real devices with new functionality. The work will involve a great deal of inorganic QD design and synthesis, fundamental analysis and characterization, computational engineering, and viable integration technologies and new/potential applications. You will conduct research, prepare reports and partake in collaborative work.
You will have a PhD in materials science, electrical engineering or a closely related subject with sufficient knowledge in processing of nanostructured materials/composites and computational simulation/calculation on charge carrier transport. Experience in the fabrication of nanostructures through solution based synthesis methods and nano fabrication techniques is also required.
Informal enquiries may be addressed to Professor Jong Min Kim (email: jong.kim@eng.ox.ac.uk)
Only applications received before midday on 3rd February 2014 can be considered. You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, including a brief statement of research interests (describing how past experience and future plans fit with the advertised position), CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
The Department holds an Athena Swan Bronze award, highlighting its commitment to promoting women in Science, Engineering and Technology.
