PhD: Theoretical Physics, Quantum Chemistry, Materials Science and Scientific Computing

International Max Planck Research School for Dynamical Processes in Atoms, Molecules and Solids, Dresden, Germany.

The school offers research opportunities for young scientists who wish to obtain a doctorate degree in theoretical physics, quantum- and computational chemistry, materials science or scientific computing. The focus is on the dynamics in matter, covering a wide spectrum ranging from finite atomic and molecular systems up to infinite surfaces and solids.
The working language is English.

We offer excellent research facilities in our partner institutions:
  • the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems,
  • the Technische Universität Dresden,
  • the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids,
  • the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research in Wroclaw (Poland) and
  • the Institutes for Chemical Technology and Organic/Biochemistry in Prague (Czech Republic).
See http://www.imprs-dynamics.mpg.de for more information about the school.
The standard entrance qualification is a Master degree or a Diploma.
The PhD positions are fully funded and available for students worldwide, to be awarded on a competitive basis.
Applications should be submitted by October 31st 2013.
For more information, the application procedure and the necessary application forms please check the application web-page of the school: http://www.imprs-dynamics.mpg.de/application.html
