Post-Doctoral: Biomedical Engineering

Job Description

The Whiting School of Engineering, Divisions of Cardiac Surgery and of Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins University are seeking a candidate for postdoctoral fellowship to conduct collaborative research aimed at the development of novel cardiac support systems. We seek candidates with expertise in design of biomedical devices, and/or systems operating at the interface between engineering and physiology. Early phases of the project involve development of concepts through interactions with medical and engineering faculty members with diverse background and expertise.
The candidate is also expected to assist in project management, including coordination among academic and administrative personnel, as well as planning of technical meetings. Consequently, the candidate must also possess strong organizational skills and be able to successfully navigate a complex diverse environment.

Qualifications: A PhD in Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with biomedical emphasis or related fields is required. Previous experience in system engineering and/or management of research group is preferred.
